Physical therapy recommendation Lon W. Shultz, Retired Cook County Judge I am 72 years old and have been doing physical therapy at Athletico in La Grange Park for the past seven months initially for plantar fasciitis, a torn meniscus, a torn hamstring and most recently total knee replacement. Michelle Bentkowski has been my physical therapist throughout. I can’t say enough about her knowledge, professionalism, patience and kindness in treating my conditions but what impresses me the most is that each and every day she has a huge smile and a positive attitude that is infectious. It makes you want to try your best for a successful outcome of whatever your condition might be. That seems to be true for everyone of the therapists and personnel who work at this location. As soon as you walk in the door, you’re treated like family. Everyone is upbeat and has a positive attitude. And that spirit is contagious. Everyone there seems willing to chip in and help when needed. Casey, Karen and Colin have also spent a great deal of time taking me through exercises which aren’t always fun. All of them work very closely together to maximize the outcomes for patients. It takes a very special type of person to keep such a positive attitude day after day keeping a huge smile when the room is filled with patients who are at various levels of pain. And sometimes intense levels of pain can make one a little cranky. From what I have observed while doing my physical therapy with Michelle is that you could not go wrong with any of the physical therapists there. The facility is kept exceptionally clean and never seems overcrowded. When I had my six week follow up appointment with my orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Craig Della Valle from Rush Orthopedics in Chicago, he gave Michelle an A+ in getting me to and beyond the performance levels where I should be. I can’t imagine anyone not being 100% satisfied with the physical therapy they might receive at this location. It has been and continues to be an exceptionally pleasant experience for me.
