About
Victoria Lipinski, LCSW, LCADC
Hello, my name is Vicki Lipinski. I am a compassionate and caring therapist sensitive to the needs of my clients. My office is in a professional office park. I specialize in goal oriented cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, insight and solution focused therapy. I have also been trained in Illness Management Recovery where the client is taught how to manage their own symptoms, prevent further symptoms and engage in a wellness and recovery approach including living a healthy lifestyle. I have also been trained in positive psychology including using your strengths in treatment and improving your life so that it is better than it was before you began to experience symptoms. I offer individual, group, family and couples counseling. I am available on week nights, mornings, afternoons, and weekends. During your initial visit, I will find out the reasons you are seeking treatment and discuss your goals of what you hope to accomplish in therapy. You will answer a few questions on what you think therapy should be like and discuss other experiences you have had with past treatment providers. I will take a detailed history of presenting problems/symptoms, frequency and duration, childhood, family history, learning disabilities, support systems, relationships, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual functioning. I will also ask about medical problems, chronic pain or physical complaints, allergies, medications, eating habits/nutrition, exercise and how you manage stress. If you have a specific disorder such as a chemical or behavioral addiction, mood disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Post Partum Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Panic Disorder etc. you may complete a screening instrument such as the Addiction Severity Index or other specific screening tool which will provide information about diagnostic criteria, level of symptoms and impact on functioning. I also have been trained to treat low self-esteem, codependency, anger management and young adult transitional issues. I have been trained in a specialized parenting program called "Positive Parenting with a Plan". The purpose of this therapy is to provide both parents with developing the same parenting skills by developing rules, consequences and rewards for their children. This allows children to have the consistency in discipline by both parents whether living in the same household, separated or divorced. It fosters closer relationships among family members since it is not a punishment based model. Beyond having better parenting skills, it allows the parents to raise their children to be independent, responsible adults. It assists the child in developing discipline so they can reach their full academic potential.
