Founder of WIFH in Atlanta, Dr. Jay Kulkin, MD, is a nationally recognized cosmetic laser specialist and a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. While Dr. Kulkin is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, it is his initial laser training in the late 1980’s that lead to his expertise in cosmetic lasers.
Dr. Kulkin was one of the first physicians in Georgia to use lasers in a surgical setting, and as one of the leading experts in the field, he has led laser workshops to teach his techniques across the U.S. and Canada. He is often on called by the Georgia Medical Board as an expert to examine cases of questionable physician performance and consults for one of the world’s largest cosmetic surgery companies to train surgeons on laser-assisted liposuction.
Patients from all over the world travel to Atlanta for Dr. Kulkin’s laser treatments, and he has also operated abroad, including in Moscow, Russia. As of 2019, he has performed over 10,000 Smartlipo procedures and hundreds of Cellulaze procedures as well as over 1 million laser hair removal procedures. Dr. Kulkin has special expertise in the use of the Alexandrite and Yag lasers, as well as, IPL devices and laser lipolysis.
Dr. Kulkin has brought the latest advances in medicine to women in Georgia. Not only has he completed peer review work for the Georgia Medical Board in an effort to assure quality care in the state, as the former Executive Director of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia he was instrumental in creating their Women’s Health Program.
In addition to serving on a number of boards, Dr. Kulkin was appointed as a Fellow in the Department of Health and Human Services Medical Policy Program, which was designed to create national policy to improve the quality of health care for all Americans.
