I am determined to work in finding ways to make women with ovarian cancer feel better and I definitely hope to find a cure someday soon. For more than 30 years, Lorna Rodriguez-Rodriguez, MD, Ph.D., has been a standout in gynecological oncology. Specializing in ovarian cancer, she has served as clinician, instructor and researcher at several of America's leading medical institutions. Her interest in medicine began when, as a child, she watched as doctors cared for her chronically ill brother. “I wanted to be one of them,” she recalls, “so I could help people when they felt hopeless ... I wanted to be both a scientist that would make discoveries and find new cures, and a physician that could alleviate the pain of illness.
