Cecilia Marin, PSYD

Dr. Cecilia Marin is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a bilingual/bicultural Miami native. She is a Florida International University Alumni, and received her Psy.D. from the Wright Institute in Berkeley California. She has been working in the field since 2001 and has been exposed to different clinical settings and cultural elements. Dr. Marin recognizes the importance of self-actualization and believes everyone has the potential to reach their goals, therefore also reaching a sense of fulfillment. Her dedication, passion, and ability to conceptualize the unique and personal reasons that brings one to therapy emanates throughout each session. She believes, we all experience ups and downs, sometimes causing us to give up or enhance negative self defeating, self perpetuating thinking patterns which intrudes on the ability to optimize a healthy and positive life view. Dr. Marin emphasizes psychological healing by the therapeutic relationship between herself and the patient. True personal change and growth depend on the patient’s willingness to accept their current situation and understand what changes they would like to see. By changing elements, empowering parts of the patient, and the communication patterns that occur within the therapy relationship will in turn allow the patient to internalize many differences that serve as an empowering tool causing a chain of positive events in many relationships, but most importantly the relationship the patient has with themselves.
