Kymberly D. Watt, M.D., is currently medical director of the liver transplant program and a consultant in gastroenterology and hepatology.
Dr. Watt provides clinical care for patients with chronic liver disease and end-stage liver disease needing liver transplantation and post-transplant care. Areas of clinical expertise include:
• Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD or NASH) research and treatments • Obesity management in chronic liver disease as well as before and after liver transplant • Managing debility and weakness in patients with end-stage liver disease • Minimizing recurrent NASH after liver transplant • Improving long-term outcomes after liver transplantation, including metabolic, cardiovascular and malignant disease
In addition to clinical activities, Dr. Watt has an administrative role in the transplant center as well as national committees helping improve access for patients in need of liver transplantation. She is active in the education and mentorship of fellows and has numerous publications in high-impact scientific journals.
