Doctor Kalhorn graduated from Boston University, where she received both her undergraduate and medical degree in the accelerated Six Year Liberal Arts/Medical Education Program. Her general surgery internship and residency training was done at Boston University Medical Center, and she completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Doctor Kalhorn is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and she is also a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. She is a member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and the Arizona Medical Association. She has been in private practice since 1996, and has been featured as a Top Doc in Phoenix Magazine.
Dr. Kalhorn regularly performs colonoscopies for the early detection of colon cancer. She treats anorectal conditions, diverticulitis, colorectal cancers and rectal prolapse, and also performs laparoscopic surgery. She is an avid runner and strongly believes in the role that nutrition and exercise play in maintaining good intestinal health
