Robert Jones
Dr. R. Chris Jones is a native of East Tennessee, growing up in the town of Oak Ridge. He is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he graduated summa cum laude and received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in nuclear engineering. He attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, graduating in 1998, earning induction to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and receiving the Medical Student Award for Research in Nuclear Imaging. He subsequently served as intern and resident on the Osler medical service at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He later completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Jones furthered his cardiology training by completing an electrophysiology fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana under the tutelage of Dr. Eric Prystowsky. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Jones is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He served as Department Chair of the Cardiovascular Center at Centennial Medical Center from 2008 until 2016, President-Elect of the Centennial Medical Staff from 2016 to 2018, and is currently the President of the Medical Staff. He also has served as director of electrophysiology research for Sarah Cannon Research Institute since 2009. Dr Jones was named to the Nashville?s Best Doctors list by the Nashville Business Journal in 2013, 2014, and 2017. Dr. Jones provides a complete array of cardiac electrophysiology services, including evaluation of syncope and palpitations, medical management of arrhythmias, device implantation and follow-up, and catheter ablation of tachy-arrhythmias, including ablation for atrial fibrillation (AFib) and ventricular tachycardia (VT).
