Dr. Brian Aalbers is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurologist with special qualification in pediatric neurology. He practices with Overland Park Neurology and Sleep Medicine in Overland Park, Kan., and is affiliated with Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Dr. Aalbers offers seven years of experience in inpatient and outpatient neurology care, primarily in the area of pediatric neurology. Known for his compassion and team-oriented approach to care, Dr. Aalbers is dedicated to comprehensive whole patient management in general neurology. His clinical skills encompass treatments including deep brain stimulation (DBS), botulinum toxin therapies, intrathecal baclofen therapy neurorehabiltation, and chronic tic management in children and adolescents. He has specialized interests in rare genetic / metabolic movement disorders. Dr. Aalbers formerly served as a physician director for a pediatric DBS program and co-director of a pediatric multidiscipline spasticity clinic. He has served as a clinical instructor in his field and has been recognized for his excellence in teaching as well as for his own academic performance. Dr. Aalbers has led numerous research projects, and authored multiple papers and articles. He is a member of the Child Neurology Society, Movement Disorder Society, the American Academy of Neurology and the Tourette Syndrome Association.
