A must read review about this doctor. I went to Dr. Cirilo for my yearly physical and to have a lump on my neck checked out. I was billed for a Physical and also an office visit. She did blood work and she diagnosed me with mixed hyperlipidemia and posted on their health portal. After we reviewed my blood count, we questioned that the lipid levels weren’t that high and she stated that was a mistake. She sent me to get an Ultra Sound for the lump on my neck. It cost me $532 for the Ultra Sound and $200 to read it. They weren’t able to determine anything and said that I needed a CT scan. Next was the CT scan which revealed 3 masses on my neck. She made us make another office visit to discuss. When we got there, she had already made an appointment (not discussing with us) with a General Surgeon and was trying to schedule for 3 more CT scans. (Chest/Abdomen/Pelvic). She said that we really needed before, but if not, we could have done after the biopsy. Thankfully my sister is an oncology nurse and when we told her she was in disbelief. 1st you never have a general surgeon operate on the neck. You need a Head and Neck Surgeon or an ENT. We told Dr. Cirilo this and she stated that she didn’t know of one. So if we would have went to a General Surgeon, it would have been another wasted expense. Dr. Cirilo posted on the portal that I had - Secondary and unspecified malignant neoplasm of deep cervical lymph nodes without confirming it was malignant. Of course, after reading this, I cried off and on for a week before seeing a Head and Neck Surgeon. After seeing a Head and Neck Surgeon, he stated an Ultra Sound wouldn’t have never shown them what they needed and would have ordered a CT scan. He also stated that why would you subject your body to that much radiation and the added expense of 3 CT Scans if you don’t even know if it is malignant or not. He actually feels it’s benign. I had the biopsy and it was benign, thank God. I had a Parotidectomy and everything is going well. The punch line of the story is that I needed a cholesterol medicine refilled, which she had filled once for 3 months and she stated that I needed an office visit for blood work before she would prescribe. Doctors usually prescribe medications for a year. It hasn’t been 9 months. We pushed back and said I had blood work done with my Wellness program at work. She said to email the results and we did. She prescribed the medicine. Several days later, we get a certified letter stating that she has terminated my care. LOL. Not that we would have gone back to her, but it’s just the principle of it. She misdiagnosed me with cancer and then terminates my care without giving us a reason. We have been trying for several weeks now to get a response as to why. Her office staff says that she won’t respond. I would think long and hard about the character, integrity and competency of this doctor.
