Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Growing up, I never liked going to the doctor. As a young child, I remember being afraid. As an older child and young adult, I never felt connected to my doctor. I wanted to be different. After college, I did genetic research for a few years and realized a life in the lab was not for me. That is when I decided to become a physician assistant. I always wanted to work in family practice, and I couldn't be happier. I love taking care of families-parents, children, grandparents, cousins, etc. What I want my patients to know about me: Family is extremely important to me. I have a wonderfully supportive husband and a beautiful daughter.
