Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: From my earliest years, I have had a fascination with how the human body works for us over a lifetime. As I learned of the disease states that could affect the human body, and so dramatically affect human lives, my interest in working to alleviate the impact of these diseases grew. My desire to pursue medicine was cemented as I saw real-life examples of people around me dealing with illness. While in high school and college, I sought out opportunities to volunteer in medical settings and shadow physicians, which led to my decision to apply to medical school. What I want my patients to know about me: I am a specialist in cardiology and congestive heart failure.
