Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare?: I always wanted to be in healthcare since a small child but I originally wanted to be a veterinarian due to my love of all creatures. After my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I saw how amazing her healthcare providers were and how they changed her healthcare experience. They were always there for her and were so kind/caring. It was at that time that I shifted my focus to humans as I felt that I could make a large impact on many. I chose to be a physician assistant so I could minimize my school debt and start my family sooner. I have no regrets with this choice and I love being a physician assistant.
