Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Medicine was a logical career pursuit for me given my family experience and academic background. My father was a pharmacist and my mother was a nurse, so there was always talk of medicine at the dinner table. I fell in love with science in middle school and went on to obtain a degree in chemical engineering and biomedical engineering at Carnegie-Mellon University. Through a summer job in college, I worked for a pulmonary physician and became interested in pursuing medicine as a career. My background and training has equipped me to fulfill God's purposes through service to others.
