Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I pursue this fantastic field of oncology to allow me as a physician to use high-tech, have frequent patient contact, and be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. The field is very data- and trial-driven, and new developments are occurring at a breakneck pace. I am constantly walking down the hall to discuss a case with my medical oncology or radiology colleagues, or on the phone or meeting in-person at tumor boards with my surgical (and other) colleagues. We are more than a set of guidelines when it comes to patient cancer care. I enjoy delivering the highest standard in my field.
