Dr. Hall McGee is a specialist in the medical and surgical treatment of the cornea and external eye, including laser refractive surgery. He has been practicing at Everett & Hurite Ophthalmic Association in over 4 different offices.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Richmond, he moved to the University of Virginia to complete his MD as well as a master’s degree in health evaluation sciences. While at the University of Virginia, he was elected to membership in the AOA Medical Honor Society. He then traveled to Portland, Oregon to train at the prestigious Casey Eye Institute for both his ophthalmology residency and his fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery. During his time at Casey, he won several awards, including Resident of the Year and Fellow of the Year.
Dr. McGee has research interests in cost-effectiveness and decision analysis, including the safety of LASIK versus long-term contact lens wear. He brings significant clinical experience in traditional full-thickness cornea transplantation, as well as advanced partial-thickness techniques, such as endothelial (DSAEK) and anterior lamellar transplantation. Dr. McGee also performs small incision cataract surgery and is available for general eye care and consultation.
