Ramon Quesada, M.D., FACC, FACP, FSCAI, FCCP, has more than 25 years of experience as an interventional cardiologist. He specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiovascular diseases as well as congenital and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty, stenting, and transcatheter vales repairs and replacements.
Dr. Quesada has been a clinical research national site investigator on research trials for coronary interventions and structural heart repairs. He has been a leader in developing minimally invasive techniques to treat structural heart disease, including left atrial appendage closure, patent foramen ovale, atrial septal defects, perivalvular leak repair, aortic valve replacement, mitral, tricuspid valve repairs, and left ventricular pseudoaneurysm closure. He is one of a few interventional cardiologists in the United States who uses the transracial approach for coronary interventions, performing more than 5,000 cases with this less-invasive approach.
Dr. Quesada was the first physician in Florida to perform a percutaneous mitral valve repair. He has published extensively in medical journals and other scientific literature and serves on the editorial board of Cardiac Interventions Today, and cardiovascular revascularization medicine (CRM). He has lectured nationally and internationally and has trained physicians from around the world on interventional cardiology techniques.
