Why did you choose to specialize in Gastroenterology?
When I was an intern, I was exposed to new technology in this field. It was exciting to be able to look inside internal organs with scopes, and from that experience I decided that this is what I want to do.
Do you have a specialty of interest within GI?
Currently my main focus is colon cancer screening, but I am experienced in all aspects of this specialty.

Medical School: King Edward Medical School in Pakistan, Internal Medicine training: College of Medicine and Dentistry, Gastroenterology training: University of Arkansas.
What certifications do you hold?
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
What do you and your family enjoy doing in your spare time?
I like traveling with my wife and friends. I enjoy my grandchildren and I love gardening.
Do you have any special honors or recognitions in your medical career that you would like to share?
I was President of Medical Staff at Baylor Irving Medical Center and I have been Medical Director of the Gastroenterology Lab at various institutions.
Do you fluently speak any other languages in addition to English?
Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
