Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: My pursuit of medicine as a career was highly influenced by my interactions with my parents. My father taught high school biology and my mother worked in the hematology department at the hospital. Our dinner table discussions often included topics which I'm sure were not considered appropriate dinner discussions in most households. However, I found them fascinating. I was also an active and athletic individual which led to an interest in the musculoskeletal system and biomechanics. Combining is interest lead me to the world of orthopedics.
