Hari K. Susarla
Hari K. Susarla, MD grew up in the Houston area where he graduated from Rice University with a degree in biochemistry. He then attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, graduating in 1999. He completed his residency training in 2003 in the combined Internal Medicine & Pediatrics program at Cleveland's Case Western Reserve University. As a doctor with dual board certifications in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, Dr. Susarla enjoys building relationships with families and patients of all ages. His interests include general wellness as well as management of a large variety of chronic conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid disease, allergies, and asthma. He also provides hospital services for his private patients at CHI St. Luke's Health'Sugar Land Hospital and other area hospitals, where he is well-regarded in the medical community. Dr. Susarla first became interested in medicine when he won the chance to become a summer surgery intern through a science fair. During that time, he watched a cardiovascular surgeon at the Texas Medical Center share his compassionate care and earn the trust of his patients. This inspired him to pursue a career in healthcare to use his knowledge to help people. Passionate about practicing quality medicine, Dr. Susarla chose to work with CHI St. Luke's Health to have the opportunity to devote himself fully to his patients. His philosophy of care is to take care of his patients the way he would want his family and loved ones to be treated. He believes in sending a patient home with a clear diagnosis and treatment plan. He is a firm believer of patient education and sharing how each person can best manage his or her wellness. He hopes that his wide range of specialties will save patients from having to visit a large variety of individual specialists.
