Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I grew up in a family of professional performing artists, where sharing stories and understanding the human experience was quite fundamental, but injuries and illnesses were avoided at all costs! I wanted a profession that allowed me to connect with people on an intimate level, help families navigate life's biggest transitions, and empower them to make informed choices. I have always been fascinated by the human body, especially its ability for self-healing, and what can be done to aid that process. I went into medicine with a strong interest in women's health and obstetrics, but found family medicine to be the best home for my varied interests and overall preventive approach to care.
