Megha Kothari, MD, is a hepatologist and gastroenterologist and an assistant director of hepatology at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. She is also the director of women’s health at the hospital.
Dr. Kothari treats patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including celiac disease, motility disease, GERD, and irritable bowel syndrome. She also sees patients for constipation, abdominal pain, swallowing disorders, and hemorrhoids. Additionally, she treats patients with colon cancer, hepatitis B and C, and liver disease.
Dr. Kothari is a member of several organizations including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She has a clinical interest in endoscopy and women’s digestive health and has published research on colon cancer, ulcerative colitis, and pancreatitis.
After graduating from St. George’s University School of Medicine, Dr. Kothari served her internship in internal medicine at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and completed her fellowship in gastroenterology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. She returned to North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System for her fellowship training in gastroenterology with a focus on women’s health and liver disease. Dr. Kothari is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi.
