Dr. Jesse Goitia is a UCI Health cardiologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. His clinical interests include coronary artery disease, pericardial disease and echocardiography.
He earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in New York. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the UC Davis School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident. Next, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.
Goitia's research focus includes investigating the role that social and environmental factors play in the development and progression of cardiovascular disease. He is the author or co-author of journal articles on the association between a patient's neighborhood and their risk of mortality after myocardial infarction and aortic valve replacement.
His philosophy of patient care is to incorporate evidence-based treatments adjusted to meet each individual's needs and circumstances.
