Dr. John G. Lee is a UCI Health gastroenterologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the pancreas and biliary tract using minimally invasive techniques, including interventional endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
Lee also is skilled in the treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding and the removal of difficult and large colonic polyps. He is involved in the research of outcomes of gastrointestinal endoscopy and is the author of numerous publications.
Lee earned his medical degree from the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Fla. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, followed by an internal medicine residency at Wadsworth VA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. Before coming to UC Irvine Medical Center, he was an associate professor at UC Davis School of Medicine.
Although Dr. Lee's primary patient base is adult, he performs endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ECRP) on pediatric patients.
