Scott Gelman
Scott Gelman, MD is a member of Summit Health’s Gastroenterology team. Dr. Gelman specializes in all aspects of gastroenterology and liver diseases including Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett's esophagus, Celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, colon cancer screening, hepatitis, and pancreatic, biliary and gallbladder diseases. Procedures he performs include upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, esophageal motility testing, and Barrx ablation therapy.
Dr. Gelman has been practicing in Morris County for more than twenty years. He also serves as the Medical Director for the Center for Digestive Diseases at Morristown Medical Center.
Dr. Gelman's patient care philosophy is to provide individualized, high-quality care in a comprehensive and compassionate manner, treating each patient as a whole person. In this increasingly impersonal technological age, Dr. Gelman strives to interact with his patients face to face and truly enjoys forming strong doctor-patient relationships.
Dr. Gelman is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, New Jersey Medical Society and the Morris County Medical Society. When not caring for patients, Dr. Gelman enjoys playing tennis, hiking, traveling and spending time with his wife, Beth, a pediatrician in Morris County, and his two grown children, Samuel and Melissa.
