David Skolnik, OTR, CHT, is an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. His professional affiliations have included corporate, hospital, and private hand rehabilitation at the University of North Carolina Regional Burn Center in Chapel Hill, and the University of California Los Angeles in Westwood, California.
Mr. Skolnik has delivered regional and national invited lectures and presentations on a variety of topics concerning hand therapy. He is an adjunct professor in the Seton Hall University Occupational Therapy Program. To his credit, Mr. Skolnik is recognized for his creative splint design and fabrication, which is used for many hand and upper limb injuries and conditions. He is Past President of the American Society of Hand Therapists New Jersey State Chapter, Past Chairperson of the New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association Hand Therapy Special Interest Group, and an active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists.
Mr. Skolnik believes that humor, respect, optimism, and commitment are essential to his approach with patients. He notes, "I use these qualities to relate to and partner with my patients in helping them achieve their health goals. It's a privilege to work with my patients and help them realize meaningful outcomes that help improve their lives."
When he is not working with his patients, Mr. Skolnik enjoys cycling, snowboarding, fly fishing, and spending time with his 2 children.
