Before joining Summit Health, Carol Martino, OTR, practiced with North Jersey Hand Therapy in Springfield and Denville, New Jersey. Ms. Martino also has practiced with Morris Area Rehab Associates and Morristown Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute, both in Morristown. She has taught classes in occupational therapy at Kean University in Union, New Jersey.
Ms. Martino became interested in hand therapy when she worked with stroke patients who were unable to use their hands effectively. She says, "Although many of my patients are working toward similar goals, I believe it is important to understand their individual goals. Knowing what matters most to each patient helps me tailor treatment to match his or her particular needs." Ms. Martino adds, "I enjoy inspiring my patients to work consistently at achieving their maximum potential with an upbeat, positive approach."
When she is not working with her patients, Ms. Martino enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys attending her children's baseball and softball games and dance competitions. She also enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling in her free time.
