Morri Markowitz, MD, is Director, Lead Poisoning Prevention and Treatment Program and Professor, Pediatrics at Montefiore Einstein. Dr Markowitz's clinical interest is in providing treatment for lead poisoning, focusing on care to children and pregnant and lactating women. He also cares for children with bone mineral metabolism problems. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Illinois in 1970, Dr Markowitz earned his Doctor of Medicine at Montefiore Einstein in 1974. He remained at Montefiore to continue his medical training, completing his pediatrics residency in 1978 where he was Chief Resident in his final year, followed by a clinical research fellowship in pediatric endocrinology/metabolism in 1981.
