Christopher Pruitt, M.D. is associate professor of pediatrics at MUSC and medical director of the Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital Emergency Department. He attended medical school at MUSC, where he also completed residency in pediatrics. He completed a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at UAB, where he then served as faculty prior to returning to Charleston. Dr. Pruitt is active in pediatric research, with a special interest in the evaluation and management of the febrile infant. He is active in the Section on Emergency Medicine of the American Academy of Pediatrics, where he serves on the Steering Committee for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Collaborative Research Committee (PEMCRC). He is co-chair of Protocol Review and Surveys for the PEMCRC. He is also president of the Southern Society for Pediatric Research (SSPR). In his free time, Dr. Pruitt enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
