Christopher Cioffi, APN is a member of the Summit Health Family Medicine team. Mr. Cioffi practices general medicine, treating and caring for patients from infancy through adulthood. He has clinical interest in chronic care and family-centered care management.
Mr. Cioffi treats each patient as if they are a member of his own family, providing them the tools and resources they need to reach their health and wellness goals. He comes from a family of health care providers. His father is a retired high-risk maternal-fetal medicine doctor and his mother is a wound care nurse in East Orange. “My sister, aunt, and cousin are nurses as well, so my medical background runs strong. But it was the events of 9/11 that really sparked my interest in pursuing medicine,” he says. “I went into NYC city about 72 hours after the trade center collapsed and volunteered at the Javits Center, helping families find information about missing loved ones and providing assistance to rescue workers.”
After college, Mr. Cioffi began in the emergency room/critical care setting as a patient care technician and worked his way up to a nurse practitioner. He is a federally licensed medical examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and can perform Commercial Driver’s License and Department of Transportation physical exams.
When not caring for patients, Mr. Cioffi enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and woodworking. He serves on the environmental commission in his community and volunteers at local health fairs.
