Dr. David Morris is board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and has been in clinical practice since 1999. He joined SSM Health in 2012 and serves as the Medical Director of the St. Louis CyberKnife Center.
In addition to his expertise in stereotactic radiosurgery, he is trained in Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), prostate seed implants, and high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy.
He serves on the Breast Cancer and Lung Cancer Steering Committees as well as the Cancer Committee. He is an active member in the Radiosurgery Society, American Society of Radiation Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Prior to joining SSM, he served as the Clinical Division Director of the University of North Carolina (UNC) Hospitals Radiation Oncology Department as well as Program Director of the UNC Cyberknife Center. He also has an interest in patients with skin cancer, head and neck cancers, and gastrointestinal cancers.
He received his medical degree from Georgetown University and served his internship at the Washington Hospital Center. He pursued his oncology residency at the University of North Carolina Hospital where he also completed his fellowship training.
Dr. Morris has authored more than 45 clinical articles and contributed a chapter titled Image-Guided Robotic Radiosurgery: The Cyberknife to Youman's Neurological Surgery 6th edition. The chapter provided detailed information on the Cyberknife and its use in the treatment of brain and spine tumors.
