About

Martin Wolff

Martin Wolff, MD, FACG is a member of Summit Health's Gastroenterology team and is an expert in inflammatory bowel disease. Dr Wolff is a double board-certified gastroenterologist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Dr. Wolff treats a full spectrum of gastrointestinal disease, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), swallowing disorders, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, digestive cancers, and disorders of the pancreas, liver and bile ducts.

Dr. Wolff graduated summa cum laude from Yale University where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He went on to complete his medical education, internal medicine residency, and gastroenterology fellowship at NYU, where he was inducted into the AOA Medical Society and elected Internal Medicine Resident of the Year and Gastroenterology Fellow of the Year. Dr. Wolff has authored numerous publications in the fields of mucosal immunology and IBD and continually presents original work at national and international conferences. He has received several awards for his professionalism, research, teaching, and dedication to clinical medicine.

Dr. Wolff’s own experience as a patient—he was diagnosed with celiac disease at age 16—ignited his passion to care for those who also face gastrointestinal challenges. His approach to care is based on a philosophy of shared decision-making, and his priority is connecting with patients on a personal level in order to develop treatment plans together.

“It is an enormous privilege to be a physician, and I am grateful for the opportunity to positively impact the lives of my patients,” Dr. Wolff says.

In his free time Dr. Wolff enjoys spending time with family, bike rides, playing piano, and going to the beach. He and his wife opened Cure Thrift in 2008 in Manhattan’s East Village, creating a nonprofit retail destination that benefits type 1 diabetes research and advocacy.
