Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: My grandfather and great-grandfather were both doctors, and my mother was a professor of veterinary medicine, which exposed me to medicine from an early age. Some of my earliest memories involve helping my mother to care for the many animals that we had growing up. As I grew older, I became more and more interested in the science of medicine and decided to pursue a medical degree. I discovered my passion for women's healthcare during my time at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, and this was further strengthened throughout my medical training.
