Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: At an early age I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Medicine based on my experiences firsthand observing family members provide care to patients in hospital and clinic settings. I pursued experiences in the fields of Science and Medicine to broaden my knowledge in the field, including bench research at the National Cancer Institute at NIH, volunteering at my local hospital throughout high school and shadowing a number of physicians while in undergrad. It is these early patient and clinical experiences that solidified my pursuit of becoming a physician.
