Kate Fitzgerald
Dr. Fitzgerald is the Ruane Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute (CU/NYSPI). As a child psychiatrist with clinical expertise in pediatric obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders, Dr. Fitzgerald's research is focused on developing better treatments to help kids. At CU/NYSPI, she is conducting research to elucidate developmentally sensitive mechanisms of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for patients at different ages. Dr. Fitzgerald's lab is also studying a novel intervention, Camp Kidpower, designed to increase brain-behavioral capacity for cognitive control to reduce early childhood anxiety. She has published extensively on these topics in general and child psychiatric journals.
