Aurelio Duarte-Encinas
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at Foresight. A graduate of the University of Arizona in 2000 and a native Tucsonan, I have great interest and appreciation for the academic environment and the challenges facing adults working towards creating the foundation for their future. With original plans on practicing law, my life was thrown a wrench when I got to law school and issues with anxiety and depression made accomplishing that challenge a great feat. Subsequent to my return to Arizona and having to figure out what I was to make of myself and my career, I began work on a Master of Counseling from the University of Phoenix. There I opened the door to seeing the great need to address anxiety and depression within the children, parents and families I worked with within community behavioral health settings and within community health centers. My work has influenced my interest in promoting both the physical and mental health of my clients. Issues related to chronic illness later in life have been shown to be exacerbated by living with chronic stress, anxiety and depression symptoms. ocus is holistic with respect to the importance of considering the integration of client physical and mental health needs. I have great respect and admiration for my clients, believing that every person embodies the strengths, abilities and resources needed to overcome the challenges they face.
