Austin then served in the United States Navy from 2004 to 2006. When not caring for patients, Austin loves spending time with his wife and six children and also enjoys cooking and gardening. He has said that his father was his role model, because he taught Austin the importance of being kind, thoughtful, and always being willing to serve others.
