Dr. Patel joined Weill Cornell/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital after completing clinical and research training in hematopathology, the latter as the first Geraldine S. Pinkus translational research fellow, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His research interests span the field of hematopathology, but recent efforts have focused on the genetics and prognostication of NPM1-mutated myeloid neoplasms and studies of the tumor microenvironment in classic Hodgkin lymphoma, resulting in several peer-reviewed publications in these areas (e.g. Patel et al. Blood 2018; Patel et al. Blood Adv 2019; Patel et al. Am J Hematol 2019; Patel et al. Blood 2019; Patel et al. Mod Pathol 2020). He is a past recipient of the David Y.
