Kyungmouk Steve Lee, M.D. is a board-certified interventional radiologist specializing in the treatment of liver tumors. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and maintains specialty certification in Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR).Dr. Lee earned his bachelor of science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and his medical degree with honors in research from Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in interventional radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is currently an assistant professor of radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an assistant attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.Dr. Lee’s research focus is in optimizing non-surgical ablative therapy of tumors (e.g., using a needle with extreme heat to destroy cancer). He is also researching the use of image-guided infusion of endothelial cells for liver regeneration and the treatment of cirrhosis. He has authored over 25 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters as well as being awarded research grants from the Society of Interventional Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.Dr. Lee’s clinical expertise is in interventional radiology and he uses a multidisciplinary approach to decide the best treatment strategy for each patient.
