Dr. Robert Lopez is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center. He graduated from Harvard Medical School, completed an ophthalmology residency at Columbia University Medical Center and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Cornell University Medical Center. He is recognized as the tri-state area's leading pediatric retinal surgeon and treats many pediatric retinal diseases, including retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric retinal detachment, ocular trauma, and other diseases. His ability to treat complicated pediatric eye diseases is facilitated by the world-class pediatric anesthesia team at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York (CHONY), as well as the state-of-the-art NICU and PICU at CHONY. He also treats adult retinal disease such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other adult surgical diseases, such as retinal detachment and macular hole. He is the head of the retina service at Nassau University Medical Center.
