Don’t be surprised if Dr Matthew Wilson wishes you ‘bonum salutem’ at the conclusion of your visit to Western Neuro. The phrase means, ‘good health’ in Latin and Dr Wilson knows it well since his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan is in Latin Language and Literature. He is one of a very small number of people in the country to study the ancient language.
Dr Wilson did not immediately pursue a career in medicine after college. He first became a soccer coach and physics teacher in a Chicago area high school. He had grown up in the suburbs of the city and was a star basketball and soccer player at New Trier High School.
