Her research has focused on AMR and she is currently one of the lead PIs on the PARAMOUr “PediAtric Renal AMr Outcomes” Study that has to date enrolled >120 pediatric patients with antibody mediated rejection which will be the largest study to date. She is also one of a few experts in pediatric Lipopheresis therapy for recurrent focal segmental glomerulonephrosis. Her international recognition recently allowed her the opportunity to be the sole editor of a brand new text book called "Challenges in Pediatric Kidney Transplantation", which is the first of it's kind.
Katherine Twombley
Katherine Twombley is a professor with tenure in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. She is the chief of pediatric nephrology and the medical director of the Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program. She is also the medical director of the Acute Dialysis Units in the MUSC Charleston Healthcare System. She is very active in the American Society of Transplantation and she is the chair of the Pediatric Community of Practice and a member of the Translational Grants Review Committee.
