Philipp Fassbender, MD, is Vice Chair, Perioperative Medicine and Associate Professor at Montefiore Einstein. As an attending anesthesiologist and perioperative care physician, Dr Fassbender has a particular interest in transplant anesthesia and the economics of perioperative medicine. After completing preclinical studies in 2004 at Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, Germany, Dr Fassbender attended University of Duisburg-Essen, Essen, Germany, earning his medical degree in 2008. In 2012, he completed his doctoral thesis at the same institution. His postgraduate training began at University Hospital of Essen, Germany, completing his anesthesiology residency in parallel to his fellowship in prehospital emergency medicine.
