Dr John grew up in Michigan. Prior to joining Carilion, he spent nearly two decades in Utah, where he started a successful, dedicated heart failure clinic. Dr John is married to his amazing wife, Amber, and they have two children, 5 year old Lincoln and 13 year old Norah. They moved to Virginia to take advantage of our clean air, plentiful water and stellar schools. In his free time he enjoys sport and alpine rock climbing, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, hiking, traveling, and is a self-proclaimed podcast junkie.
