Rebecca K. Marcus, MD, is a surgical oncologist with the AHN Surgical Institute, who specializes in the treatment of cancer. She provides personalized care for patients with primary and metastatic tumors of the digestive tract and abdomen, including, gastric, colorectal, pancreatic, and hepato-pancreato-biliary diseases. She also cares for patients with skin and soft tissue malignancies, including rarer tumors such as sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumors.
Dr. Marcus is a Midwest native. She received her college degree, as well as completed her medical training, at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She attained her general surgery training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. During her residency, she spent three years at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas completing a surgical oncology research fellowship. Most recently, Dr. Marcus completed her surgical oncology fellowship as part of the Donald L. Morton, MD Complex General Surgical Oncology program at St. John’s Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California.
Dr. Marcus prioritizes patient-centered, individualized care planning in her practice. She emphasizes the use of minimally invasive approaches, including robotic surgery and oncoplastic techniques whenever possible. As part of the AHN team, she strives to provide innovative treatment options to all patients with cancer through translational research and clinical trials. Dr. Marcus is certified by the American Board of Surgery. She is actively involved with multiple national organizations including the American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, and the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. She sees patients ages 18 and older.
