Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: From my childhood, I have always been regarded as caring, offering empathetic ears to my siblings and cousins. As I grew up and showed strong aptitude for academics, I was initially leaning toward engineering as most of my uncles and cousins had towed that line. With only limited knowledge of requirements for medicine, I decided against it, initially believing that my poor skills at drawing would not allow me to draw good anatomical figures. During our days in secondary school, we were required to draw and annotate leaves and dissected frogs. I changed to medicine once I realized otherwise.
