William “Tyler” Turchan, MD, specializes in treating both benign disease and cancer with radiotherapy and has extensive experience utilizing a variety of treatment techniques including intensity-modulated/image-guided radiotherapy, radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiotherapy, brachytherapy and radiopharmaceuticals. Dr. Turchan is a Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center physician.
Dr. Turchan has performed original research, which has yielded several national conference presentations and many publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. He has previously served as an ad hoc reviewer for several scientific journals including Practical Radiation Oncology, Radiation Research, and Annals of Palliative Medicine. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Martin Center Sickle Cell Initiative, a human services agency that helps individuals in Central Indiana who are afflicted with sickle cell disease.
Dr. Turchan earned his medical degree at Indiana University and completed a radiation oncology residency at the University of Chicago. During his residency, he earned a master of science in public health sciences for clinical professionals at the University of Chicago.
Outside of work, Dr. Turchan enjoys spending time with family, running, hiking, backpacking, and working on home improvement projects.
