Jessie grew up in Atlanta, GA and made her way to Maine for undergrad where she studied biology at Colby College. After college she spent some time in Nepal working for a health and development NGO and led outdoor adventure trips for teenagers in the western United States. She ultimately decided she wanted to combine her interests in science, community health, and working with people through a career in medicine and public health. She returned to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Emory medical school where she obtained her MD and MPH degrees.
