Dr. Michelle Pelcovitz completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Barnard College at Columbia University and earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University, where she received research and clinical training in evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Pelcovitz has contributed multiple publications and presentations on clinical research. She completed her clinical internship training at the NYU Child Study Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. Dr. Pelcovitz has trained in multiple clinical settings, including inpatient units, emergency rooms, partial hospitalization, day treatment, and outpatient psychotherapy, and additionally has trained in a number of specialized treatments, such as trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT). Following her internship year, she completed a year as a postdoctoral fellow at Weill Cornell Medicine, where she joined the Youth Anxiety Center to work with emerging adults in addition to children and adolescents. She continues to work with the Youth Anxiety Center.
