Dr. Scanlon attended the University of South Carolina, graduating with a BS in biomedical engineering. After receiving his MS degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami, he completed his MD degree at the Drexel University College of Medicine, in Philadelphia. Dr. Scanlon finished his orthopedic residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and completed his fellowship training as part of the NYU Langone/ISK Adult Reconstruction Fellowship program.
Dr. Scanlon’s research has focused on cartilage tissue engineeringand other bioengineering topics. He has served as a reviewer for a number ofacademic journals, including Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Health: AMultidisciplinary Approach, and the University of Pennsylvania OrthopaedicJournal. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations,including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the ArthroscopyAssociation of North America, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, andthe Biomedical Engineering Society. Christopher M. Scanlon, MD, MS, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He is skilled in hip resurfacing, primary and revision hip and knee joint replacement, and knee arthroscopy.
